This week, we will continue Chapitre 1 and our study of the verb avoir and vocabulary words. We will also spend some class time working on our Quarter 1 Projects!! New conversation groups have been created and there are new seating charts.
If you scored below a 70 on your Avoir/Mois quiz, please see me for a request to retake form. The highest grade possible on a retake is a 70. There are also extra credit opportunities available on my website. We have worked on our presentational speaking projects in class 2 days this week, as well as played review games to solidify our knowledge of basic French conversational skills. Practice speaking your roles for your presentations tonight and google pronunciation videos from Alexa on You Tube if you are unsure of something. We can have the beginning of class 9/27 to rehearse before we present. We will be reviewing the months of the year and avoir before our quiz on 9/17.
Make sure to pay attention to the spelling of the month. We will work on Chapitre 1 worksheets on vocabulaire 2 et grammaire 2. We will begin to learn our first French irregular verb, avoir, which means "to have." We will also learn the days of the week, and months of the year.
We will have fun learning to sing Joyeaux Anniversaire (Happy Birthday) and make a graphic of the birthdays in each month for our class now that we know our numbers! We will learn to say the year that we were born in as well. Avoir will take up the majority of the week, as it is a very important verb to know to describe things and people and to use the past tense towards the end of next year. |
